Adelaide into the Semi Finals

If you like your football full of passion, great skills, end to end excitement, two sets of pumped up fans, a full stadium and a Semi Final prize up for grabs you'd have loved the Adelaide United Kashima Antlers clash at Hindmarsh Stadium last night.

The Reds won 1-0 and made history becoming the first Aussie side into the Continents major football tournaments Semi Final.

It was simply a marvellous game.

Travid Dodd inspired, Paul Agostino had his best game in a Reds shirt, Eugene Galekovic was immense in goal.

Scott Jamieson started with Cassio superbly but they and Adelaide tired across the park.

There were chances galore for both sides as the game rushed from one end to the other.

Over two hundred fans came from Japan and sang througout. It was a breathtaking night of football.

Kashima played with style and skill, but the Australian side matched the cashed up Japanese side and outplayed them over two legs. Something Sydney and Melbourne had not been able to do against their Japanese opponents.

$23 million salary cap v Adelaide's $2.5million.

And another big step for the credibility of the A-League.

We're not doing so bad are we?

Robbie Cornthwaite scored, Commentators Andy Harper and Mike Cockerill, overly enthused, even Aussie biased but they were loving it.

It was that sort of night.

The prize now? Adelaide have a trip to play Uzbekistan.

Should be fun.
