The rise and rise of David Williams
Former Queensland Roar striker Davis Williams continues to impress abroad.
He has played a number games for Brondby first team in the Danish League and hopes to achieve his aim of playing in England one day.
"I've got another eighteen months on my contract so we'll see what happens. But I want to keep progressing up the levels and achieve my goal of playing in England."
Williams sees himself as a striker, that's where he plays for Brondby, but Olyroos Coach Graham Arnold blessed with strikers has moved Williams to the wing.
Would be great to see another Indigenous player representing Australia at Socceroos level in years to come.
Williams looks like he could do it, although it is very early days.
Makes you wonder if Williams, Nathan Burns, Bruce Djite and others from the Olyroos could make some sort of contribution in 2010.
Suddenly the team wouldn't look quite so old and slow. Scott McDonald, Josh Kennedy and one or two of the above would add a bit of youth and pace. Noice me thinks.
