Victory dance at the Dome...finally.

Melbourne beat the woeful Phoenix 3-0 tonight at the Telstra Dome in front of over 25,000 fans.

Great crowd, and they were in full voice as the they made their way to Level One at the Dome where they sang and danced the night away.

And maybe it helped....

The Victory team, or maybe it was the increasing mobility of the Victory team with a willing forward runner in Nicky Ward.

No Grant Brebner, no Kevin Muscat in the Victory midfield and it seems to be working better.

Well, hullo, how hard was it to fix!

Great movement, great strikes and yes Nicky Ward scored. So did the born-again Carlos Hernandez. He still goes missing at times, but he is contributing more and more and it's great to see.

Canberra's Kaz Patafta scored a wonderful goal. When he hit it, it's hard to see how it could go in with keeper Glen Moss recovering to the nearpost. But Patafta's shot, hit with power and hit early, clearly surprised the keeper. Great goal.

The Phoenix flickered, but only when it was two nil.

Armed Elrich showed why David Beckham gets paid so much. Beckham can cross!

Elrich a one-time flying Socceroo is a talented winger, but he continues to show his inability to cross simple right footed crosses accurately.

Every week he seems to waste opportunities. At 26, you'd think a right winger could cross 70% or more with some accuracy. Too much to hope for?

Victory can wait to see how Newcastle go tomorrow, but they'll take some heart going into Asia with three wins, three good wins and a bit of entertainment.

You can only hope Ernie Merrick heeds the signs. A more mobile midfield, helping the one man show in Archie Thompson and the team starts to win.

It's not hard is it Ernie, just too late.

With Danny injured, they only had to play for one man - Archie. I think it helped that the boys had more of a chance to play for themselves.
