Aussie World Cup to dwarf Rugby World Cup
The Japanese and Korean economy benefitted to the tune of $27 billion by hosting the 2002 World Cup.
The Department of Tourism reported The Sydney Olympics produced $6 billion and The Rugby World Cup held in Australia in 2003 generated a paltry $290 million worth of economic benefit...and we didn't win either!
Now perhaps these figures may be the reason why we are hearing wonderful unity from our friends in AFL, Rugby League and Union administration.
No-one wants to look anti-Australian on this one, but there will be a few little officials from various codes just quietly hoping we don't get it. Bless them.
