Celtic v Rangers on Saturday....did it influence Scott McDonald's decision?

Cetlic need to beat Rangers at Ibrox to close the gap in the fight for the Scottish Premier League. A loss and the best team in the world will be six points adrift of the Gers.

Now did you see the footage of Scott McDonald getting called off on Sunday for Celtic after 63 mins? He looked, shall we say surprised, nay shocked.

And Manager Gordon Strachan quickly announces wee Scott has a calf strain.

A million dollars says he plays at Ibrox on Saturday!

Eamonn, great to see you keeping it up, great stuff, loved the word on valeri senior coaching 2 socceroos...interesting angle on the McDonald sitiation (say it like a Scot :-)), hadnt thought of that, but makes plenty of sense.

Come on those Socceroos

Can't wait Tony, going to be a great great afternoon of football, really exciting to see the Aussies in a humdinger of an occasion.

Very tense afternoon I reckon but if we can win, god we're flying I reckon and gives us time to bed down the players, or more of them for the next round.

enjoy the game

You'll love this one...

F'n disgrace...been watching foxsports news since 8pm, believe it or not, 40 odd minutes into a one hour segment we get word (a quick one) about verbeek's ailment...

Obviously matters afl are more important than a crucial world cup qualifier.

Sometimes I wonder.

Well Scott McDonald has so far been nothing but the grudging socceroo so it doesnt surprise me one bit that he's withdrawn from this game. I always find it very interesting to read the different angle he gives to the media in Australia to that he gives to the media here in Scotland (I live in Glasgow so am right up with what is going on out here). A case in point was prior to the Asian Cup when he was telling the Aussie press that he was well up for the tournament, yet back in Scotland he was saying how he really wanted to get a pre-season under the belt with Celtic and he'd have to work something out with the Aussie management.

Personally I dont think Australia is missing much. He scores loads in the SPL but he's probably not head and shoulders above quite a few other Aussie strikers going around.

Finally Eamonn, just thought I'd mention Aberdeen's Scottish Cup 1/4 Final victory over your beloved hoops. That was special. Sorry.
