And not a Canberran in the squads. Is that a first for Canberra?

The lack of an ACTAS players in the Young Matildas selection is not a reflection of the quality of our ACT girls or on the ACTAS Coach. Alen Stajcic has put in as many non physically disabled NSW acadamy girls into the Young Matildas as possible. That would guarantee his funding and job.
One can only assume that his team will only do as poorly as they did last year. Any other sport would have demanded his resignation. Questions need to be asked and soon about the perceived bias in this Squad.
Well I'm hardly in a position to criticise the squad, given my knowledge of players etc.
ButI like many will be watching the teams with interest.
That said Robbie Hooker, ACTAS and Matildas Asst Coach would surely have been able to influence the squad if he thought our players were up to the mark, wouldn't he?
Here we go agian. Another Staj fest. I do know a bit abut the whole Staj scene. There are definately some really good young players in the ACT. Don't hold your breath waiting for Staj to identify them. He needs room for his 13 favoured ones.
We just might need to be a bit patient on this one. Robbie Hooker is a smart coach. He will get his players in the right spot at the right time. The cream will rise to the top.
Aren't the Sykes twins ever so lucky. Identified by Sermanni. Absolutley no way the metrocentric Staj would have ever looked to the regions.
It appears Robbie Hooker has no influence on the future of Australian Womens Football at that level.
Thats has been left to Stajcic to ruin as he did at the last U20 Womens world cup.
Lets see ACTAS had 3 Australian schoolgirls this year at the right age to have a serious lookin to the YM squad. YM has numerous NSWIS girls who werent good enough to be in the AUST schools team but hey if your from NSWIS your in.
Who says Politics plays no part in Sport?
Just watched Robbie's girls play the future stars of Australian football. They were great; don't know exact score but roughly, Robbies unworthy mob 5 opposition zip
What about the lack of Victorians - both in the senior and junior squads?
Surely we are not that bad down here.
Neil
shocking about the Vic's but maybe they are all watching AFL:)
anyway surely something needs to be done to tap the talent in Victoria
it's exploding in Qld at the moment, huge increase in selections in national teams.
