Good afternoon foundation members,
Canberra Times will be taking a photo of all foundation members who sign up at Service One Members Banking (Bailey’s Corner, Canberra City) on Thursday 17 July @ 9am - it would be great to see you there! The more the merrier and obviously the more successful it will appear to the public.

I got member #59 down there this morning. I hope the organisers were pleased with the turn out.

If this bid is to succeed you need to do get yourself a decent bank that is interested in our cause.
I went to Service One Members Bank at Tuggie this morning to take out a foundation membership, queued up for 15 minutes with other bank customers, and when I eventually made it to the counter I was told that this would take some time and that I would need to wait alongside with another gentleman who had previously been told to sit down elsewhere before I could be served (he had been waiting for at least 10 minutes with no sign of anyone interested in him ... whilst they continued to serve their normal customers!). I said no thanks and walked away – talk about discrimination!
I am more than happy to part with my $200, and prepared to queue up with other bank customers, but I am not going to be treated like a second class citizen when I get there!
Get another bank which is committed to providing this service, and seriously review the process to facilitate the purchasing of this membership if you want 5,000 people to join up!
