Meanwhile, concerns about the unpopularity of the colours green and white have seen NQFC look for an alternative.

One of the candidates for the NQFC coaching job, to be announced on Monday, alerted the club to the fact the colours had a strong link to Scottish giants Celtic and were not popular with a lot of football supporters.

It was thought the unpopularity of the colours may have had an adverse effect on merchandise sales.

As a Celtic fan one can only immediately have the heckles up. "Not popular with a lot of supporters" in Townsville I bet the good folk would have been livid to have the green and white hoops...well we'll see about that won't we.

This blog is now devoted to seeing the team lead by ex-Rangers player Iain Ferguson the North Queensland whatevers come bottom of the ladder, in whatever colours they wish.
