Canberra United further signings

ActewAGL have signed up as front of shirt Canberra United sponsor. Good news.

And United Coach Robbie Hooker announced further signings this morning.

Local players Rebecca Kiting, Ellie Brush, Bronwyn Studman, Chrissy Walters, and Dubbo Matilda Ashleigh Sykes have all joined the club.

There are now 13 players on the books. ........

Four Queensland players will fly to Canberra to trial this weekend, and Robbie is still hoping to sign a player from the USA to play that centre midfield position.

Two weeks until the first game, still at least five further players to be signed. Clubs can have 18 or 20 at most and of course you can expect additional replacements to be drafted as players get injured as the season progresses.

"Having the first two games away is probably a good thing as it allows us to work on our performance and you want to win all games, but particularly the homes games and it will give us a little more time," said former Socceroo Robbie Hooker

"We've made a number of further signings today including Ashleigh Sykes who is currently away with the Promising Matildas. She's a bit raw, from the wild west of Dubbo, but has plenty of pace and she should improve," said Robbie.
