The tighest finish in World Sport..ever?

In England only two or three clubs can win the title. In Italy, Germany, Spain and Scotland it's the same. Big clubs, with big money. Manchester United, Celtic, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich. I've probably picked at least three national champions and there are still six months to go.

In Super 14, League and AFL .......

with a week or so to go the Minor Premiership is usually sorted, well sorted, with only the minor placings for the final series been squabbled over.

In the A-League there are two rounds to go.

If Newcastle Jets beat the Central Coast Mariners and Queensland Roar draw with Sydney FC, all four teams will be on 31 points with one game to play.

That's tight. 50% o all teams, albeit a small competition, still have a chance to win the Minor Premiership. And unlike other codes in Australia this isn't just about gaining the second chance in the final series. The Minor Premiership actually means something.

The winners get to play in the Asian Champions League. Some prize.

Expect big crowds again this weekend.

I'll be hoping for a four way tie going into the last round.

Has there ever been a tighter finish in any sport in the World?
