Craig Foster: How dare you!

Celtic 2 AC Milan 1

On SBS Craig Foster derided Celtic. Himself and Paul Okon, and Andrew Orsatti severely criticised almost mocked the performance of my team this morning.

We football fans love to criticise, even mock, but try and do it with it some humour or insight.

The three of you gave a less inspiring performance than the mighty Milan. You should be mocked.

Get the Chase in I say!

You were boring, uninformed and lacking in any creative spark.

You guys are in the entertainment business. So lets have some entertainment in between boring games. You gave us nothing.

When asked what he thought of Australian Scott McDonald's performance Fozzie couldn't speak or give any assessment, never mind intelligent assessment.

So Fozzie and the SBS team here is my thoughts:

Lets' compare the budgets of the two clubs.

Celtic have drawn 0-0 with the mighty Milan at home in previous years. Milan are the European Champions.

We are the Scottish Champions with a very minuscule budget compared to Milan. Kaka would cost more than our whole team, but this doesn't seem to be of any use in your analysis Fozzie.

You get what you pay for in this game.

Creative players cost.

And you expect us with Nakamura and Vennegor of Hesselink out injured to conjure up other quality replacements to become dynaminc forward options.

Where do these players come from? Of Champions League standard.

After all we are playing AC Milan so beloved by the SBS team.

And weren't they boring. One of the most boring away performances at Celtic Park in recent years.

Would a Benfica or Manchester United have played with such caution.

Strachan set his team out to stifle Milan, hold the Champions and sneak a win.

He did it.

Dare I suggest if Strachan attacked as you would have liked then I'm sure you could have spent the show telling us how great Kaka and co are as they rip Celtic to shreds.

Celtic 2 AC Milan 1

Fozzie eat your heart out!

It was a dire first half, and little improved in the second half although Celtic did win Fozzie. Despite according to Fozzie at the break, "Celtic are not a football team."

It's the Champions League mate so a little respect.

ps. Celtic may only be Scottish, as you so often love to put it, but Viduka, Vidmar, Muscat, McDonald and Zdrillic and many other Aussies earnd and do earn their living there.

pps He who laughs last laughs longest. Celtic 2 Milan 1...not bad when you compare the budgets...not bad at all!

Couldn't agree more Eamonn. Unfortunately, our beloved SBS has been on a downward trend since Fozzie turned up. For mine, he is to football commentary what Stan Grant is to news.

Fozzie, can't believe he can just write a team, a game a competition off.

What is the point of having a pundit watching the Champions League if that is all they can say.

Dire!

I agree with everything you've said mate. As a life long Celtic supporter and someone who watches a lot of Scottish football i find his comments extremely insulting. Glasgow Celtic has a proud history domestically and in Europe, something David Basheer has acknowledged whenever he has commentated on a Celtic game and Les Murray has also acknowledged in the past.

I have a serious problem with the way Craig Foster conducts himself in regards to my team. It was the same last season, we beat Man U at Parkhead and beat Benfica convincingly but still he couldn't find anything positive to say about us.
He is no pundit and definitely no expert. He has a chip on his shoulder and seems to hate Scottish football which possibly has something to do with him not making the grade at Rangers? He admitted whilst on the panel for the Barcelona v Rangers game that he get "100's of letters and emails from Scottish fans" i'm sure none of them would be positive.

Nothing is ever mentioned about the economic reality Celtic and Rangers live in compared to teams from Spain, Italy, England, Germany etc.. even Shaktar have spent something close to 100 million pounds in the last 3-4 years. A good example would be Lucarelli, who Shaktar paid 6 million for in the summer. Both Celtic and Rangers could only dream of spending that kind of money on a single player. Even the purchase of Scott Brown was offset with players, Kenny Miller included, going the other way...

Something has to be done about Mr Foster.. and if you read this Craig, and I'm sure you ego surf your own name all the time.. you're that kinda guy: pull your head in! you are no expect. My 11 year old nephew knows more about Football than you. We have a saying "If you know the history". If you did you'd know what the name Glasgow Celtic means to millions of ppl around the world and you wouldn't be so disrespectful!
