Canberra better than Townsville?

FFA CEO Ben Buckley continues to talk up the new A-League clubs in the coming years.

In today's SMH it seems Townsville, Gold Coast, Western Sydney and Melbourne are in for 2010/11, and then next on the list are Wollongong and Canberra.

Phew, we made a list at least:)

But we should really be competing with Townsville for that earlier place. Bigger football base, bigger population, higher wealth demographic, more private industry,

so what is missing?

Clearly the Capital, the start-up funds and ongoing funds to see the club off the ground, and become a successful football club in the community and the A-League.

A sleeping giant is this fair city I reckon.

Interesting the hype around the Melbourne new entry. Seems certain if you read the article, but the FFA haven't spoken to anyone from Melbourne yet!!

So Canberra; it seems to me those that have the resources need to bang their heads together and get this thing going.

There's been a lot of talk around town, but who has the passion, the ability to attract the funds?
