Mrs Wensing: Canberra A-League fan.

It's very interesting seeing the numbers and range of people who are supporting the Canberra A-League bid.

Recent stalls at the Canberra Centre have shown that anyone and everyone is likely to sign-up.

My favourite?

Mrs Wensing.

When approached by a volunteer to sign up for football, she dismissed the volunteer with a brush of the hand and some annoyance at been asked. I watched the exchange with some amusement....

But then as Mrs Wensing walked away the penny dropped.

Do you mean football as in Soccer? she asked and she was back in a flash.

Well suddenly we found a new best mate.

Mrs Wensing played football in Holland as a young girl on the streets of Eindhoven. She always shouts for Holland and of course Australia when we make the World Cup.

I love football, and I'd love to see a team in Canberra, said Mrs Wensing.

The support for the bid is proving to be across the board, young and old, male and female. Very interesting.
